GUSCIORA HIGHLIGHTS LEGISLATIVE ACCOMPLISHMENTS AS SESSION WRAPS UP
(TRENTON) – With the 213th Legislative session coming to a close on Tuesday, Assemblyman Reed Gusciora (D-Princeton) accomplished many of the goals he had on his legislative agenda. He looks to have an even more productive term in the 214th Legislature. “I am very proud of the work we have done in Trenton over the past two years,” said Gusciora. “On a wide range of issues including judicial reforms, environmental protection, and social progress, the residents of New Jersey are going to see real benefits.” In all, it is expected that Gusciora will have close to 40 bills which he was a sponsor of signed into law before Governor Corzine leaves office. Some of legislative proposals Gusciora championed this term, which have been signed into law or are waiting the Governor’s approval include: · “The New Jersey Compassionate Use of Medical Marijuana Act” · The creation of the “New Jersey Scenic and Historic Highways Program” · Comprehensive legislation to protect environmentally sensitive areas from illegal All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) riding · Establishment of a “New Jersey Technology Innovation Week” · Creating an environmental stewardship program for private sector companies to participate in · Creating alternatives to repay default court costs to reduce the recidivism rate “In the upcoming legislative session, I am looking forward doing even more work to address the issues facing New Jersey residents,” concluded Gusciora. “This includes continuing the work I have been doing on shared services, consolidation, and systemically reducing the State’s property tax burden.”
